Derby Place
Designed by the award-winning architectural practice, Fender Katsalidis, Derby Place is a carefully considered response to its surroundings. Form and materiality have been informed and inspired by the inherent character of the local neighbourhood and its historically significant, residential streetscapes. Thoughtful use of stone and brick finishes, glazing, ribbed concrete and bronze finish accents all contribute to a layered and texturally rich façade. Using a diversity of slender rectangular forms at varied heights and setbacks, the architecture maximises site orientation and privacy, encouraging natural light to flow throughout interior zones and the upper level garden terrace. Innovative architecture creates expansive sightlines, allowing residences to revel in the views of a privileged location.
Thoughtful orientation and aspect deliver an exceptional outlook to every residence, where upper levels open to Melbourne’s captivating city skyline and picturesque panoramas of the Dandenong Ranges, while lower levels look across Kew’s leafy urban streetscapes. Intelligent design uses recessed forms to enhance the views and create a private, protected outdoor zone for each residence, encouraging natural ventilation and light while maximising privacy and solar protection.
